No label on your motor? Here's where to look
What the brand on your garage motor actually tells you
The motor brand is almost always printed on a label on the head unit itself — the box mounted to the garage ceiling — and it's often a different company from whoever made the door it's lifting. Merlin, Chamberlain, B&D, Gliderol, ATA and Boss are the ones we see most across Perth, alongside a long tail of smaller and imported brands. Knowing which one you have matters because remotes, logic boards and drive gears are almost never interchangeable between brands, so the wrong part simply won't pair or fit.
That's why every call-out starts with the brand and model on the head unit's label — it tells us which remotes to bring and whether the fault is a common, cheap fix or a sign the unit is nearing the end of its life. We repair and re-program every brand we see, and where a repair no longer makes sense we'll say so on the day rather than after a second visit, with a clear repair-or-replace recommendation and a fixed price before any work starts.

Where the brand name is hiding
Nearly every garage door and opener is labelled somewhere. Here are the three places to check before you call.
Motor / opener
The brand and model are printed on a label on the head unit — the box bolted to the garage ceiling. Check the underside first, then the side facing the door; on a few models it hides under the light lens cover.
Roller door
Look along the side of the curtain where it meets the guide, and at both ends of the bottom rail — most Australian roller doors carry a foil sticker there, and some have the brand pressed into the rail itself. Raise the door halfway so the whole rail is at eye level.
Sectional door
The sticker sits on the inside face of the bottom panel, usually near a corner, or on the vertical track at about head height. It's often tucked behind the weather seal, so run a finger along the lip if nothing is obvious.
Still not sure? Send us a photo
A photo of the label — or just of the door and the motor — is usually enough for us to name the brand before we arrive.
The brands we supply new, not just repair
For these opener brands we're an authorised dealer — new stock, warranty-backed, fitted by our own technicians. Every other brand on this page we service and repair.
